Red Acne – When Rosy Cheeks Become Unsightly

Categories: Diva Grooming, Skin Care

Some people suffer from Acne Rosacea, a skin condition in which the pimples are accompanied by broken blood vessels. The flushing cheeks combined with acne scars are a hideous sight and the rosacea needs to go.

You will need to see a dermatologist to confirm that you have this condition, which could be genetic. Although you can cure the acne, the broken blood vessels are a lot harder to deal with. However, you can help to alleviate your symptoms by avoiding anything that could be causing the aggravation of the blood vessels on your face.

First order of business, take care of your skin under the sun, if you can’t wear a good sunblock (SPF15 at least), wear a visor. Avoid cheap red wine, coffee and soda. If you have to order in, avoid spicy foods. Increase the amount of vitamin C in your diet by eating citrus fruits. the bioflavonoid in these fruits may help promote healthy capillaries.

If you suffer from acne Rosacea, you need to avoid irritating your skin as much as possible. Trim your bangs or change your hairdo so that the ends of your hair don’t accidentally brush your face and cause irritation.

Use mild shampoo and conditioners. Using a mild soap is useless if your shampoo has a strong ingredient that causes irritation. Moreover, the chemicals in the hair care products you use may stay on your hair and irritates the skin on your face when you sweat.

Some people think that dairy foods make their Rosacea worse, but it all boils down to the food you are allergic to. Steam treatments may be bad for you, as you should avoid extreme temperatures. You may also need to trim your fingernails to avoid scratching the sensitive skin on your face while you’re cleaning it.
